At the end of June I will again participate in 24 Hours of Booty, a 24-hour cycling event that raises money for national and local cancer initiatives. 24 Hours of Booty is an official event of LIVESTRONG, which believes that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. LIVESTRONG provides the practical information and tools people living with cancer need to live strong. I will be riding for Team Collin, a group of cycling enthusiasts who met through an online cycling forum. Our team name honors Collin Marsh, the son of one of the forum members, whose 18-month battle with cancer ended shortly after his second birthday. Collin’s bravery and tenacity inspires us to continue to do what we can to support the cause we believe in so strongly. As a six-year survivor of pancreatic cancer and having lost family and friends to this disease, this fight is personal.
